A simple movement can change your life

WELCOME TO AMBER YOGA

Only a body that is truly relaxed can receive the full swell of inhalation. Inhalation is the vehicle of prana or vital energy. Therefore we stretch, extend and reach in order to become softer and more relaxed. We strengthen to support our flexibility and to become more stable in ourselves.

Forest Row Yoga

Community classes in the heart of the village.

Mondays - Thursdays - Fridays

Inspiring practice that summons the intelligence of the student making the practice truly integrated. Each movement provides a pathway to greater understanding.

Deepening Online

Go beyond asana in this 100-hour course or join individual modules.

Deep shifts are given space to occur and the practice becomes truly transformative. In good company there is an energy that propels one further. When social pressures are removed, the true self can be revealed and there is a light heartedness to what follows. In yoga this is known as lila: divine play.

Hill Yoga Retreats

There is time to converse, to read, to rest, to dream, play and explore…There is also time to improvise: horse riding, tapas trips, picnics on the hill, barefoot walking are all activities that can be enjoyed. Tennis, bird watching, photography, painting… the imagination delights and ignites.

  • ‘Thank you Amber, I have loved practicing with you these last few weeks. Your guidance is so supportive and helpful, I found the classes really practical and clear to follow, and noticed how my physical and emotional body quickly responds and opens up, not just to the movements but also to the mindfulness and theory behind the practice. I love the integration and I just love learning more! ahhhhh bliss.’

    Jennifer Lewandowski, art gallerist.

  • ‘Thank you so much for teaching in this format together, it is a such a tonic to be able to tune into your teaching skills and presence at this time. I continually enjoy not only your method, but your thorough dedication to communicating the importance of the subtle sensory dynamics at work within practice. It is truly a gift that you share, and I rarely get to communicate that to you, so after a month of being able to tune in for this - I would just like to thank you both, it is a great gift and fortifying opportunity that you are sharing, and I hope it is also beneficial for you too in these times.’

  • ‘Amber’s yoga is unique. She is totally authentic. Her commentary flows with delightful eloquence and carries you along. She is committed to all ages, sizes and levels of experience. Amber’s yoga is deceptively simple at times and yet it goes very deep. She might call it ‘movements of the subtle body’. The ease of many of the postures, means that I am always in the mood for it, however tired. And it means I can keep up the practise regularly. During Lockdown, Amber’s yoga has been a lifeline – an absolute pillar and pivotal in keeping me sane. One of the advantages of having recordings is that you can choose what your body needs that day – hips, shoulders, lungs, digestion, fatigue release, core stability… and so on. I have done some of her recordings many times now and I always hear something new – a nuance, an attention to detail, a precision, or simply some words which ground me or lift my spirit. I always go on a journey with it and always feel calmed, nourished and renewed by it. I wish I could feel like I feel after Amber’s yoga all day, every day. ‘

  • "Amber, what can I say? I found your style of yoga so refreshing/energising/healing…..the list goes on. After years of doing yoga on and off something finally clicked and I felt as if I had ‘found my yoga’! (...) On a personal level, I did find the whole experience very restorative. This was in large part due to your teaching but also the very warm and open nature of the group (...) and the very relaxing and inclusive atmosphere you all create at Trasierra."

  • "At Amber's class (...) I requested any poses that might help bring my labour on, particularly as my partner was going away soon! The class was amazing, and I worked hard and intensely. I definitely felt more open when I left and that something had 'shifted'. Over night I went into labour. So thank you Amber! My body was in the best possible condition to give birth and I really think that class did something to bring it on- and give me a great mindset for labouring."
